Angela Tannor has been a self employed GCSE home tutor for 5 years. Due to her contacts in her community her clients have often been of Nigerian and Ghanaian descent. She describes frequently coming across anxiety amongst children and parents when choosing GCSE options due to a lack of understanding over what is considered to be an opportunity in the UK.
She came to ACTive Walworth with the idea to start an awareness and educational project for young people and their parents around GCSE options, revision and exams to help dispel a lack of communication and understanding on the topic.
“ACTive Walworth have encouraged me to believe in my project and its value and have introduced me various supporting organisations, I am hoping through InSpire I will be able to get a placement in their homework club and begin to pilot my services.”
